Who's Foiling Who Now???
Well, after a morning and afternoon of sleep Gina decided to become more alert...much more alert. This time she followed commands for her nurse twice in a row! I don't think Gina knew I was watching, otherwise I'm sure she wouldn't have done a thing. When her nurse asked her to hold up one finger, she did it without hesitation like she'd been doing this all along. The nurse then asked her to hold up two fingers and she again did it without hesitation. (and she didn't just put them up a little bit, she put them straight up in the air like she meant it!).
Then she asked her to stick up her thumb...straight up, no problem, no hesitation. She then did all three commands again! One more giant step up the mountain. After that I asked her if she would like to see her new portable DVD player...to hold up 1 finger for no and 2 for yes...she held up 2 fingers! So, we watched a bit more of a movie. This was great, but I couldn't get her to do it again....that's ok though....one step at a time.....and hopefully another step soon! Keep up the wonderful comments and prayers! All 3 of us love them!

Dear Paul and Mimi and Gina, I was so glad to be there with you again today and what a nice change for Gina to be up in a chair. I know there's a lot going on and sometimes I think Gina is just worn out from all the fussing and care but every day brings her a little closer to wellness. I am so thankful for you two Paul and Mimi and your love and attentiveness to every aspect of the care for your daughter, I wouldn't expect anything less. Hope this week brings only good positive changes each day. I love you all and will continue praying for full recovery. Love, Grandma Roz
Hi Gina, Mimi & Paul, So good to hear another day of progress. I read the other day that there are only two animals that can climb Mt. Everest, an eagle and a snail. Small steps are steady ones and soon you will be soaring! Love, Aunt Janie
Sometime soon Gina is gonna signal somebody by raising her middle finger in response to a question she doesn't want to answer!
Keep grinding away, Gina, you're getting there!

Keep it up girl, wow you did it twice in a row. A step up that mountain.
As hard as the trip up that mountain may seem. It is not the journey, but the view of the other side that we hold so dear for the rest of our days!
i'm glad you're progressing so much...keep going and get better soon
