Talking up a Storm!!!!!!!!

What a day, what a day, what a day!!!!! Where to begin??? Gina started out her morning by amazing Paul and I by walking through an obstacle course and then having to pick up a ring from the floor and toss it onto a peg...she had to do this 4 times and never missed a peg! She then went walking up and down a 5 stair staircase (alternating feet while going both up and down the steps). While watching all of this I was as proud of her as I was the day she turned 9 months old and took her first steps!!! Her resident physician just got back from vacation today and commented that he couldn't believe that he'd only been gone 1 week with all the progress Gina was showing!

Later, in speech therapy, she started using her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was doing so well, we went into the hall to practice yelling! Gina told us that she sometimes yells at people on the ski slope. When she was asked what she yells, she said she yells "Hey! You're cute!". :-D

The afternoon was spent talking, exercising, and generally showing off her new found skills!!!!!! Of course, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face all day long!!!!! Gina was smiling all day too!

What will tomorrow bring?

Happily,
Mimi

whooo hoooo I got to be the first. (to post)

I've never been first at anything ever before wow whhooo hoooo!

Well maybe I did get to go first that once.

It was a dark night and we were driving down an old country road. Just a bunch of young guys and a six pack.
Well the call for nature came, it turned out we were all shy. Hey I got to go first (go, get it).

What I didn't know was on the side of that road, over the small embankment, Low and behold.

AN ELECTRIC FENCE!!!! OOUCCHHHH!

Maybe first isn't all that good afterall. Except for the Ice cream truck, I'll settle for second.

I liked the part about Gina yelling to the guys on the slope! I just bought Laura a new ski jacket at MRM the night that a ski shop set up a sale during a Mid Mad. The bottom of one of the sleeves had a portion that flips open to a mirror. Doug Guthrie was with us and we were laughing that it enabled girls to check their makeup. Doug goes, "No, you're mistaken; it's for signaling!" Laura immediately flashes the mirror back and forth and calls, "Oh...boys, boys!!" Doug just shook his head.

Paul:

It looks like that long awaited sound of stereo yapping in your ears has finally arrived! Gina in the right channel and Mimi in the left channel..of course, having THREE women in my house, the noise is more like surround sound!

I'm really stoked to see Gina's rehab going so well...

Hi Gina, Mimi & Paul. How wonderful to have your voice back! I imagine you have a lot to say and a lot to ask. Sounds like you are excelling in your therapy but then you excel in all you do. Keep up the good hard work. Love to all of you Aunt Janie

Hey Gina, they're going to have to write a new book there at the hospital when they get done with you. You must be a real encouragement to them for all their hard work seeing the results so quickly. You probably got straight AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's. Love You, Grandma Roz Oh bye the way, it's so wonderful to hear your voice returning and Paul's right, he'll think he's got surround sound but he won't be able to pick the stations he wants, ha.

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on the computer for a couple days and boy when I did see the progress it sure looks like things are going fast. How great to be able to speak again and enjoy having fun with family. We always take these things for granted.

Keep smiling and may God bless.

Love, Aunt Robin
