More Practicing

Today Gina continued to practice sitting up and standing. She played Sequence Dice, got another massage, started mouthing words (including 'I Love You'), and even smiled....it was the most beautiful smile we'd ever seen!

Tomorrow (Wed., Feb. 13) is Gina's 18th birthday and Childrens Hospital has cards that you can make and send online for free. The hospital will print them out and deliver them to Gina's room! It's easy...just go to www.nationwidechildrens.org and mouse over 'patients/families/visitors' and click on 'send a greeting card'. Her room # is A3643. We're hanging all her cards up all over her walls like wallpaper...she loves it.

We recently learned that all gifts are allowed except for latex balloons...balloons are great, just make sure they're mylar or any other plastic except latex.

Hugs,
Mimi

Gina!! I'm glad to hear that you're still doing so well. I just wanted to leave you a message tonight just in case I'm not able to get on tomorrow. Happy Birthday!!!! Even though it's about 4 minutes early. I look forward to seeing how you're doing every single day and I can't wait until you can have visitors. Keep up the good work Gina and I hope you have an awesome 18th birthday!

Happy Birthday Gina! Good work on all the improvements you've been making, but then, it would take heck of a lot more than this to keep a good Englishwoman down now wouldn't it!

Gina: Happy Birthday Girlfriend! This is a big day for you and your family! I was so pleased to read that you are smiling and mouthing words!
Keep up your hard work! We had a "snow-day" yesterday from school and I thought of you and how much you love the cold, snowy weather! Enjoy your day "sunshine" and when you are feeling better we will throw you a b-day party in photo class!

Mimi, Paul, Grandparents and family:
I was so excited to read the updates from yesterday! What an absolute gift it must have been to see Gina's smile! Just wanted to let you know that I am sending you all my prayers and best wishes on this very special day!
Peace-

VERY, VERY HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY GINA!

You are doing great kid! I am so excited to hear of your progress and how happy & proud you are making all of those praying for your condition to improve. I am sure there are still plenty left in the bank that you will be moving at warp speed now. Hang in there! Soon you will be standing at the to of the ski hill muttering the infamous words of the late Don "Spike" Spiker: "It just doesn't get much better than this!" I see you saying this often from here on out.

Mimi & Paul, I am just as thrilled for you two as well. I know where I need to go when I need strength and inspiration. You two have got that mastered!

In an effort not to feel so old "you guys all rock!" :)

Lots of love and hugs!

I sent Gina a card via that link in the blog post. Hopefully they print it in color and she likes it!

It's unfortunate that she'll only get it tomorrow though...
