"I'm Cordless!"
Yet another H-U-G-E day here in Childrens! Gina did another floroscope and did much better! She can now eat most regular foods!!!! She also got her pic line and her trach removed!!!!....and so doesn't have to have the IV pole following her around anymore! When her therapists, PCA's and other nurses have noticed this, Gina would proudly tell them (with a smile on her face) "I'm cordless!" Her wit has obviously come back too!
In addition to all that, she's also becoming measurably stronger and more independent every day! She told me yesterday that she wondered what surprises awaited us today...and now we wonder what awaits us tomorrow! My adrenal glands are almost on overload...and I'm loving it!!!!!!!

Gina - What a fantastic comeback you are making! Can't wait to hear when you are headed home. We visit your blog daily, and we have even been putting it into our Powerpoint for our Tuesday mornings. I always try to have a bit of good news to start off my office meetings, and you have not let me down yet!! You got a round of applause yesterday morning!

Gina, I'm so amazed at the resiliance you have! I'm not sure Brooke would have perservered so well! She's still waiting to be able to come see you as am I. It's been great having your mom keep everyone informed, it's made it much easier for everyone. You'll have to start leaving your own comments when your fingers get more coordinated.
