Climbing on with Humor!

Yesterday was an eventful, impressive and funny day. In the morning during physical therapy they got Gina into her chair again and showed her a stuffed OSU Football. One of the therapists asked her to get the football and she did. Then, when asked, Gina gave it back, then took it again and another therapist on Gina's other side asked Gina to give it to her....and she did! We continued to play pass the football throughout the day.

Later in the afternoon it was time to get Gina back into her chair again, so her nurse asked her to give a thumbs up if she wanted to get back in her chair...no response...so I decided to give it a try and asked her the same question...no response...then I asked her to give a thumbs up if she DIDN'T want to sit in her chair and the thumb immediately went up! We all had a good laugh and poor Gina still had to sit in the chair!

One other thing happened yesterday that is of note...we got moving orders...we're just waiting for a room, but we think we'll be moving to Rhodes 8 East...I'll keep everyone posted...the staff said sometimes it can take a couple of days.

Blog you tomorrow,
Mimi

It seems like Gina is moving out of ICU! Or, did you guys get evicted?? Are there showers in Rhodes Hall?

Sounds like yesterday was a big leap forward...We all continue to pray hard for Gina to keep getting better!

Hugs,

JD

Hi Gina, Mimi and Paul,

What a cool blogspot, such a great way to keep everyone updated and get much needed support to boot. I am so glad I was there yesterday to see Gina sitting upright, interacting with the therapists. My favorite moment was seeing her put her favorite key necklace on. Introducing familiar and loved things is very important. Your strength (as a family) is amazing. Handling this life-altering situation with such humor and grace will take you far on your road to recovery. I look forward to watching Gina rebloom!!

Take care of yourself too! (Nurse's orders!)

Gina Will you please tell your mom to take a shower!!! I guess Paul does not have enough pull. Great job G keep up the hard work. I know Physical therapy is a pain but it will pay off. I have patients complain all the time. Maybe the next time they put you in the chair they can put a whoopy cushan in first!! At least it will sound funny. Take care all Tom a

Hi Gina, So glad to hear you've had a couple really good days. Sounds like your keeping everyone busy. Heard about the move today. Hope everyone is comfortable. I know you will be because you are the only one with a bed. Your on the 8th. floor and that's good with all the rain we had today and what's coming tonight, ha. Just wanted to say hi and tell you one more time that I love you. Grandma Roz

Hey! I am so glad to hear that Gina is doing better in her progression. I miss joking around with her at work all the time and I hope that I will get to joke with her again soon. I pray for her and hope that she continues to improve with the treatments and I know that her strong will won't let any of us down. Tell her I said hello and to hurry up and get better!

With Love,
Amber

We are so happy to hear how well you are doing. You are a daily topic of conversation at our house. "How's Gina today?" Our whole family is sending positive thoughts and well wishes your way, as so many others are. We just read your blogspot and are smiling right now, knowing what a strong young lady you are... we're not suprised.

Great news, makes me very happy.

Don't like the chair?

Gina if you would like a more comfortable chair, give your mom two thumbs up and if I can swing it with the nurses it will be delivered.

WOW! º¿º Lots of love
