Another Big Step!

Yesterday was a fairly quiet one, but it did involve another major step. In addition to Gina following commands a little more often, she was able to be put into a chair. She stayed in the chair for a few hours, watched part of a DVD, took a nap, and watched quite a bit of MTV.

She still doesn't answer yes or no questions (except that one time the other day???) but we feel as if she's headed that way. They'll probably put her in her chair again today and I think we may be changing rooms sometime this week...we'll see! :-) The three of us are so thankful to know that we have such a large and wonderful support group surrounding us!

Hugs,

Mimi

Dearest Gina and Family,
I read your posts everyday, it is usually the first thing I do. I am excited about your improvements, and your silly behavior! Gina, I had a great dream last night that you were teaching me to snowboard! You made it so easy for me, and I was really good at it!(I know it was just a dream!) We had so much fun! I am holding you to your promise, that someday I can snowboard without falling so much! I continue to pray for you and your family- and look forward to when I can come and see you and give you a great big hug!! I have the program from scholastics for you and your family-
Much peace and love!

GREAT GINA!!
I know you will make good progress. As for MOM and Dad just keep them guess on what is next. You don't want to make it to easy for them. Hey Mimi the hill was busy Sat and Sun. Conditions were good. The patrol was busy and Marty even taught a lesson. I had a lesson of Indians which is always fun. Oh ya Uncle Bob was making fun of all the racers ski suits!! There was some who do not need to wear ski tight suits!!! Keep the faith and smile its another new day. Tom A

Well Gina, Mikalyn came home from OU this weekend and we came to visit you, but you were too busy with that great progress of getting out of bed and sitting in your chair. WAY TO GO, GIRL!! Baby steps to the elevator! (from the movie "What About Bob!" Paul and Mimi, it was great to see you yesterday, although I'm sorry Mimi, we came at the wrong time.

Thoughts and prayers continue!!

Love to you all,
Christie D.

Dearest Gina,
I think about you everyday and pray for a speedy recovery. I send you positive energy - I hope you feel it. You are a talented and beautiful young woman with much to offer life.
I want you to NOT even think about school. I am not an artist, but I am good a coming up with options for school for you. I am anxious to visit you when you are visitor-ready. For the time being, I encourage you to keep on taking those little steps that lead to giant leaps. Ask Mimi to give you these: XXXOOO.
Love,
Kathy Rowe

Dear Mimi, Paul and special Grandparents,
You are the rocks - the strong support that Gina needs as she recovers. I know how important she is to you and you to her. Please take good care of yourselves. Let me know if there is anything you need. I await word that Gina can have visitors. We will take care of school when it is time.

Hey, Gina:

Great to hear you are becoming more upright - at least sitting that is...

You, your dad and your old lady, er, I mean your loving mom, are in our daily prayers. Your progress is testament to the power of prayer!

The SBers miss you dearly, Gina...Mimi, the Ski Patrol is in shambles...patrollers are taking people down the hill sled first!

The Sunday night ski school has been taken over by the 6th grade Olentangy Liberty kids! They are teaching every one how to straight run Twister to Regulator and stopping only when something is in their way.

The Sunday night instructors have become listless and have resorted to clinics in The Loft. The new SOD is a Latino named Jose Cuervo. He's pretty cool but makes people go crazy.

Paul, the Logan County Sheriff's office has posted your picture in both the Ladies and Men's restrooms
with the title, "Have you seen this man lately?"

We all miss you guys dearly and can't wait until Gina is healed and back in her regular program...

Hi Gina, Paul & Mimi, Yes, that is a big step for her to be able to sit up in a chair. Everyday she is getting stronger and soon will be back to her sweet self. My brother Frank has a date Thurs. night with an old friend to go see a movie and I am so excited for him. You'd think he was my little boy instead of my brother. Things are going good for him and I"m so proud of him. He has come a long way and I know it wasn't easy. Keep up the good work. Love you all, Aunt Janie

Dear Gina,

Hey you :3 I'm very happy to hear how fast you are improving! hopefully the present I dropped off today will help speed things up and keep you busy! Good Luck with painting with Paul! :3 keep it up silly! Psssttt, it's a leopard! just like you it's cute and feisty! it even has a tail! hmm, I should have put a nurses hat on it for you :3 but no kicking it! who knows where it could go flying in that bed of yours! I'll bring in Adah when we can visit you! then the two can hang out again!

Dear Mimi and Paul,

Thank you very much for letting me bring Gina her fluffy animal present ^.^ hopefully he doesn't give you too much trouble by rolling around on the bed x.X; or if she kicks it off the bed...It's very puffy and puntable so watch out! I was very happy to hear directly from Paul about Gina's progress and the little stories ^.^ It brighted up my day completely :D Thank you very much once again for letting me drop off my gift to gina ^.^ hopefully it brought both of you smiles and laughs presently and in the future :3 My family prays for Gina's speedy recovery and well-being! You two better be getting enough rest as well!

Hi Gina, It's Monday and my first day back to work after a three day weekend and I'm tired and going to bed soon. Thought about you all day long and read the blog as soon as I got home then Paul called and as I expected, he had good news. You get better with each passing day and we are all so grateful for every move in a positive direction. You are such a smart girl and so on top of everything, even in your hospital bed, ha. Love the way you still have your mom and dad curled around your little finger. Heard you may be getting a new room soon and I'll be right there to see it. Hoping and praying for another good day for you tomorrow Gina and more things for you to enjoy. Paul said he tried to get you interested in some animal videos on the TV but you just wern't interested until he turned on MTV and then your interest became intent, I understand, don't give me popcorn if potato chips is what I want, you go little girl. Love, Grandma Roz

Gina, Keep up the good work. We all miss you at the mountain. I took your Level I exam over the weekend for you. You passed, but boy did they rip your boarding skills. Boots on the wrong feet, 2 boards instead of one and your pants were around your waist.

You will need to improve to get your level II.
