Well, another day has passed and improvements continue. Gina continues to open her eyes, squeeze fingers on verbal command, and will now take the finger of her left hand to reach up and explore her face or scratch her nose.
We just feel as if she's right on the edge of waking up. The docs say that as soon as she wakes up they can remove the tubes. Please continue to pray and send warm wishes for Gina. We read her all of them and we think they're really helping her to get out of this. It also feels good for Paul and I to know that there are hundreds of people out there who want Gina to be ok as much as we do.

Think of all the great fun we're going to have when you visit me here in NY - I heard that my mom and Daniel said they'd let you come visit.
Maybe I can even sneak you into my studios on campus at my school and I can teach you to silkscreen or something fun like that. You'll have to act like some super too-cool-for-school art kid... but wait, you already are one :P
I think about you all the time and am really hoping your recovery will be a quick one so I can give you a phone call to talk.

We have been with you daily and Papa has been just a Mess! ( No I have NoT!) Yes you have....
Anyway,we are so proud of you trying so hard to come back to us. We have plans for the trip to NYC and maybe the beach in June!!! We will try not to be too much like grandparents in NYC and spoil all your fun. We know Bre and Moira will side with you!!

Hi Mimi and Paul,
Mimi, it has been a long time since you were in LaPorte but I'm your Grandpa's and Aunt Dllona's first cousin, Kathy. Dllona e-mailed us about Gina and we are reading her blog and are very thankful that improvements are being made every day, prayers do work.
Ron and I were just looking at pictures of Gina, Steven Sheriff and Jeffrey Bowman when they were in La Porte and swimming in my brother, David's pool. They look to be about 6 or 7 years old.
The picture of Gina on her blog reminds me of Dllona when she was that age and I know for certain that Gina does look like Dllona because Dllona and I spent lots of time together in the summer and we are the same age. Dllona never lets me forget that I am 6 days older than she is.
I just wanted to let you know that your relatives in La Porte are praying for a speedy and full recovery.

i have been thinking about you constantly and keep sending happy, healing vibes to you. i wish i lived close by so i could come and see you and just hold your hand.
you should know that you have hundreds of people out here on your side who can't wait until you recover! it sounds like you are already well under way. every time i talk to my mom she has some news on your progress that makes me so happy to hear!!!
i can't wait until you will be well enough to come visit. my mom said that you have been discussing the details. make sure that she doesn't talk you into doing something that you're not super into!! it will be your trip and anything you want to see and do we will make sure it happens! start thinking about the landmarks you want to check out (bridges or buildings), and shops you want to go to, and museums you might want to explore. i should be able to take you up to my office on the 53rd floor and show you what a real manhattan sunset looks like from the clouds :]

Dearest Gina it was so good to see you again today and hold your hand and watch as you explore some of the trinkets you have there. Feeling over them probably deciding in your mind what you thought they were. Tell Gina that she better get well soon! Although this is my first post on this blog, I've been checking it over the past several days for updates and I left her a comment on her Facebook. Melissa has kept me informed about Gina's condition and said that she came to the hospital to visit as well. I really wish I could be there. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers constantly. I am so thankful to here of Gina's progress!

Gina, It looks like you are getting plenty of great offers to travel after you break out of that hospital. I would like to extend you an offer to Sweet Home Alabama as well. I can guarantee that a good few days on the lake will have you, Mimi and Paul feeling relaxed, rested and worry free in no time. You can't help it. That is just the speed down here! Bring plenty of sun screen (Mimi).

Way to go Gina! You keep working at getting back and getting moving. You are in God's hands and he will heal you. We have been praying for you and your family.
