Teenage Mentality

Well, yesterday Gina invented a new trick. She got me three times with this one. Here's what she did; when I asked her to squeeze my hand, she did, when I asked her to let it go, she did. So, I asked her to squeeze again, and she did, and I asked her to let go again, and she did. Right then, the nurse walked into the room and I told her what had just happened and that I thought Gina would do it again. So...the nurse asked Gina to squeeze her hand...nothing...she told her again and got a small squeeze, then the nurse told Gina to let go and she wouldn't! I swear Gina's just trying to make me look like a liar! I think she set me up! Oh well, later on in the evening one of the docs stopped by and let me know that Gina followed a verbal command and squeezed and released her hand earlier in the day. I knew Gina was trying to set me up! Vindication!!!

Something else interesting happened last night. Paul was reading Gina her blog mail and she immediately seemed to relax, listen, and she kept squeezing his hand when she heard the name of whoever had sent that particular blog. So...keep up the wonderful messages, warm wishes, and prayers! We know God is listening. Hopefully she'll wake up soon!

Love,
Mimi

Try texting Gina...

The other day I asked Kari to empty the dishwasher - no response. 20 minutes later I asked her again to empty the dishwasher - no response.

So I texted her to empty the dishwasher and within THREE minutes, the dishwasher was empty...(true story!)

The prayer wheels are cranking for Gina to keep on improving...

Hugs,

JD, Val, Kari & Tara (and Eddie, who hasn't met a snowboarder's butt he didn't like!)

Hey Gina!

Keep up the silliness with your Mom. I haven't seen her lately to trick her and keep her on her toes (not hard to do actually ;-) ). Sounds like she is in good hands!

Get well soon! The snow and everyone else misses your energy.

Hey Gina,

Only my second blog and I am well on my way to taking my PSIA-C (Pretty-much Stink Incredibly At Computer) Skills - Level 1 Certification for blogging! Let's hope my blogging skills improve faster than my snow-boarding abilities........which explains why I am still skiing!

Keep up the good progress and behave yourself so your mother doesn't threaten to secure your other hand. Regardless of the leverage you hold over your Mom right now, SOON, you will not be exactly in the position to keep her from grounding you! :) Hope it doesn't hurt to laugh a little and I'm sure your Mom would love to see you crack even the slightest grin! Can't wait to hear more good news! Hang in there kid! ...and Mimi! ...and Paul!

Lots of love, hugs and prayers from Sweet Home Alabama!

Suzanne

PS... Have you ever noticed that your ski school friends are just "not right"?

Hi Gina, it's Grandma Roz again, boy is it cold outside and now rain coming in turning to snow tomorrow. Forty five Monday and now the big freeze again. No wonder everybody's sick one week and OK the next. Been thinking about you all day today and how busy your life has gotten this past year with school, work and everything else. One thing I've learned, you have made a great impression on lots of people and the messages being sent to you from all your friends are so nice. Hope how soon you wake up so you can really talk to them. Sending all my love to you honey and will see you soon. Love you much, Grandma Roz

Hi Gina,
Any teenager getting ornery with Mom is definitely a sign of moving toward "normal"!! Congratulations on the the progress.

To Mimi and Paul,
So thankful you are having some good news daily, and am sure the progress offsets how tired you must be. We are all out here with lots of caring thoughts to send strength your way as you work through these days and look forward to more good news!

That's right Gina...you keep up the tricks. It's fun to make moms confused and I always love when people think my mom is crazy like your nurse thought. just kidding but really...

Glad to hear you are getting better! I will keep praying for you!

Gina,

I have been thinking about you and praying for you. The snow was pretty good this weekend but I didn;t really get to enjoy it much after teaching 5 lessons Sunday. I don't know if you have heard the results of the xgames or not. If you want to wait and watch it on tape then ignore the following results.

Sean White nailed a 1260 at the bottom of the run and won super pipe. It was his record 12th xgames medal. Loui Vito fell in the qualifying rounds and didn't quite make the final

Gretchen Bleiler won the womens superpipe title and Kelly Clark came really close to sticking the first female 1080 ever seen in competition!

Andreas wig won the slopestyle after sean white broke his board on his first run and had to use a brand new board for his final run.

Jamie Anderson won womans slopestyle, and Lindsey Jacobelis redemed her embarassing fall in the olympics by winning the womens bordercross. I didn't watch much of the skiing but I am sure someone else can fill you in on those happenings.

Mimi,

My roomate was aboe to work somthin out with the mortage company. I appreciated your help the other day (I am sure it feels like a really long time ago) We all missed you Sunday evening.

Gina, Mimi & Paul: Well that was definitely good new to read!! Mimi does need to be kept on her toes!! I had Gina added to our Prayer chain at church this week (it's always good to have a gaggle of Polish Catholics Praying for you...we may get a lot of things backwards...but prayer isn't one of them..hehehe). Gina lets try to go one step farther today... open your eyes and look at your mom and dad today...then whenever the nurses come close them...that will really aggravate your mom..hehahe. But for real now.... you do WHATEVER it takes to get better...and soon.

Hugs,

Even those of us that do not know your family are so HAPPY! Progress, wow, I know it has to feel great to watch her improve.

The tricks she plays on you are perfect. Having a teenager of my own I can relate and I know if I were in your position I would be praying for the tricks.

Prayers are coming your way constantly. My chruch is praying for her, my father's church in WV also has her on their list. Lots of Power in Prayer and Gina is proving it!

Keep strong and I hope you are also taking care of yourself.
