Rest and Relaxation

Yesterday was a day of rest for Gina after all the hard work she did on Tuesday. She's still up to her same old tricks though. This time, on command, (from her Grandfather) she held up 1 finger, then 2 fingers, then her thumb! This is one of the things we've been trying to get her to do right from the beginning, so I ran out of the room to the nurses station to grab Gina's nurse telling her on the way back into the room what had just happened. She said "Really? Let me try". Well, I'm sure you know exactly what happened next. That's right.....nothing! Foiled Again!

Last night she opened her eyes and kept them open from about 12:30a to 1:15a. We're not sure if she was looking at anything or not, but she seemed to periodically focus on things that were held in front of her. Only time will tell, but we feel that this may have been a big step in the right direction! Keep the prayers coming....they mean so much!

Gratefully Yours,
Mimi

Dear Gina, Mimi, and Paul,
Sorry I missed you last night.
Tell Gina her dog Gigi misses her. Carol keeps buying her new toys which she happily shows off to anyone who comes to the door. Her favorite is a new raw hide bone which she won't let anyone have unless you trade it for her stuffed squirrel. She likes our walks but is always trying to fake us into believing she hasn't been fed, so she can get an extra meal.
Get well soon!
God Bless,
Kevin, Carol, and Jonathan Cross

Hi to you all,
I've got a big pot of chili brewing on the stove. Bill and I have parent-teacher conferences at 4:30,Thought we were done w/that many years ago. Just got done reading todays update, Gina, your not a sleeper, we can tell your trying to get yourself awake. It will happen honey, when God sees it's time, your family and friends will be anxiously waiting. In the meantime , I'm glad you were able to get some well needed sleep Mimi, you need it for your own personal strength. Love you all, A.Judy

Did you know that your Dynastar's glide much better on the snow than on the gravel in front of the ski school room? They kind of drag on those little sharp rocks...

My skis were in the shop and yours were just kind of sitting there...

Now that I've got your attention, just a quick note to say that we're hanging on every improvement Gina is making right along side you guys...

Hugs,

JD

Hi Gina,

Keep up the good work kid. Who cares if the nurses don't get to see your tricks! Maybe if they would stop poking and prodding you so often you would be more cooperative. Can't wait to read of your next improvement!

This is #3 blog for me. I have almost mastered this technique. I'm ready for that PSIA-C exam! Have a good night honey.

Hugs & prayers!

Dear Mimi, Gina and Paul:
Jackie from KT just told me about Gina's accident. I want you to know that Louis and I are praying for you guys. I am going to watch the blog to keep up with the progress. Please know that I send you and your family lots of love.
You all will be in my thought and prayers.
