Feisty as Ever!

All went really well with Gina yesterday and last night. She kept her eyes open for about 1 1/2 minutes three different times and continues to be very active with her left hand. She was gently exploring all the sensors and tubes that are attached to her. Her nurses had decided to leave her left hand unrestrained for the past couple of days (the right is already unrestrained) so she could start feeling some of those things, but then yesterday she discovered how to wrap her hand right around her intubation tube.

She didn't pull it, but we decided it would be better to restrain her left hand again to keep it under control. Believe it or not, this is a good thing....she's getting so active that we're now having to make sure she just doesn't decide to remove everything herself.

Paul and I are doing just fine and we're still excited about all the forward progress Gina is making!

Much love,
Mimi

First time on reading blog. What a great way to keep us up to date without feeling we are intruding. You are in our prayers and look forward to reading about the progress you are making. No matter how small or insignificant it may sound. I'll stop by this week and drop off a pack of the "Snowboarder Training Cards". I only have 21 packs left.

Hi, Gina. I know you're going to pull through this, look at all the progress you've made! You've got an entire army behind you, an army of friends, family, and random strangers, supporting you 110%. We all can't wait for the day you wake up. You are the strongest and bravest person I've heard of in quite some time, fighting hard to be with us all as soon as possible! We all love you and are praying for you every single day that passes (sometimes more than once). Keep exploring your surroundings, and keep squeezing those hands, babe! Can't wait till the day we hear you are awake and well. Keep fighting, fiesty girl!

Dear Gina, I sure missed not being there with you today. I thought about you all day long and was so glad to hear from Paul this evening. I've had several phone calls from people wanting to know how your doing and we all are waiting for the day you surprise us and wake up. We know you will very soon and that will be a happy day for us all. Keep trying Gina, we know you can do it. Love, Grandma Roz

Gina,
I sincerely thank God for all of the progress that you're making. Only he could endow you with the kind of superior German engineering necessary for such a speedy recovery. I hope you will soon be well enough for Tea-time!
